'Medieval Morocco
An Empire from Africa to Spain'
The Louvre hosted a major exhibition on medieval Morocco, in which some 350 works displayed the cultural and political richness of the Maghreb between the 11th and 15th centuries and its influence in Africa and al-Andalus. The show included cultural activities and allowed a better understanding of the history and heritage of contemporary Morocco, underlining Albalat’s role as a strategic enclave on the frontier.
